THE GREAT BRITISH NHS

I was reading the Daily Mail on line as i do everyday, and came across yet another article on the cash strapped NHS. For those of you not familiar with this, it is the British medical system.
A brilliant idea when first established but then just left to play with itself.
When first established people paid a small percentage from their salary into it and got treatment for free when required. Now 40 years ago when i was a mere babe the treatments available were to say the least basic compared with today's amazing medical achievements.
Of course these treatments and the drugs often involved for life after many procedures cost considerably more, and since people are living longer they need more treatments and it goes around in circles. Of course the amount that many of the now elderly paid in was based on a life expectancy of around 70/75 which is now growing rapidly to around 85 + and our wonderful government in all those years did not see this coming, and probably still haven't worked it out. It amazes me........
They have over the past decade brought in business professionals to manage the funds and the hospitals, but like with most over zealous senior management with no experience in the field they have just entered, they only made business judgements based on economics not operational need and now it's even more of a mess.
Give me THAILAND any day.
